Provides links to a range of research services, catalogues and programs that assist in researching Australia’s military history.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is responsible for marking and maintaining the graves of members of the Commonwealth killed in the two World Wars. The site also contains a Debt of Honour Register detailing the locations of graves and memorials for those killed in the two World Wars.
Australian War Memorial
Provides information about Australia’s role in wars, conflicts and peace operations and explains the Memorial’s collections and activities.
Shrine of Remembrance
Provides information about the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, including its exhibitions and education program for schools.
National Archives Australia
The National Archives contain Australian armed service records from 1901 and other records relating to Australia’s involvement in subsequent conflicts.
Australians at War
This site is designed to complement the ABC documentary of the same name and contains a variety of educational resources. It also has stories from Australians who served in wars, conflicts and peace keeping operations.

Provides pictures of people, places and events relating to Australian history and society, including military history.

Contains information relating to the Gallipoli landing and the Anzac Cove in Gallipoli.

Provides information about teaching and learning activities, educational resources, military history and veterans’ biographies.

Shares the war experiences of twenty Victorians through interviews.
New Zealand ANZAC Day Site
A New Zealand perspective on ANZAC Day, including New Zealand memorials, biographies and photos.
Australia’s War 1939-1945
Provides detailed information about significant World War II events, particularly in relation to Australia.
World War Two Nominal Roll
Details the service records of more than one million people who served in Australia’s defence forces and the Merchant Navy during WWII.
